To purchase a painting

We recommend that you view the actual painting before making a purchase, as it may be difficult to know exactly what a piece looks like from viewing it online. Original paintings are almost always better seen firsthand. Appointments can be made to visit the artist’s studio in Takoma Park, Maryland, or to meet in a public place in the Washington, D.C. area. Please contact Chris if you would like to set up an appointment.

If it is not possible to view the painting firsthand, orders can be taken online using PayPal^©, and shipped to the purchaser. Please send an e-mail to Chris with your inquiry about a particular painting.

Painting details and pricing

All paintings are oil on primed cotton canvas on wood stretchers. Larger works have a support beam in the center. All works will be shipped unframed. Prices, sizes, and other details can be found on the enlarged image of each work, by clicking on the image on the PAINTINGS page. Sizes are in inches (1 inch = 2.54 cm.). Prices are for the unframed painting only; shipping and insurance charges will be added when applicable.

Shipping and insurance

Paintings will be shipped anywhere in the US (except Alaska and Hawaii) via UPS ground in cardboard boxes packed with bubble wrap. Paintings will be insured for the listed price. Shipping and insurance charges range from $25 to $50 US dollars depending on the size of the painting and location of the shipping address. Larger paintings shipped to the west coast of the US will be closer to the $50 range, smaller shipments to the mid Atlantic states will be closer to $25. Shipping charges outside of the designated area will be estimated upon request.

Payment

When you are ready to make a purchase, please send an e-mail to the artist with your request and include shipping address. The full price including shipping and insurance will be quoted in response. When payment and shipping details have been finalized you will be sent an email with a link to PayPal. PayPal is the fastest, easiest, and safest method of payment. You do not need to have a PayPal account to make a purchase, and most major credit cards are accepted. You will simply be asked to fill in the agreed upon amount in the appropriate box and click on “Pay Now”. Payment in full must be received prior to shipment.

Buy with confidence

Purchasing art over the internet is new to many people. Original paintings are almost always better when viewed firsthand. So if a piece purchased online fails to meet or exceed your expectations upon arrival, it may be returned within 30 days for a refund (minus shipping and insurance charges). If the painting has been damaged, please describe the damage in an e-mail before returning it.

With paintings purchased directly from the artist, after having been viewed firsthand, all sales are final.

Copyright and licensing rights

Copyright and licensing rights remain with the artist. This means that you are not permitted to duplicate or publish an image or grant a publication license for an image to another party.
